Bloodroot Flower Essence 30mL
As a child,I wandered the woods alone for hours and whole summers; any chance I could. It was my favourite place to be. Partly because home life was tense but mainly because of the calming, quiet of the forest. The chance for discovery and being an immersive part of nature; values I still hold close, today
My childhood home backed onto a series of forested hills with an old horse path that wound around the hills to get to the flat land above. One spring day while wandering as a little one, I can remember climbing this trail but being drawn off the known path to a shady grove. Blooming bright, there was a patch of Bloodroot. A harbinger of early spring, it is one of the first ephemerals to bloom in the wildwood
Delicate white petals with a yellow centre, these flowers are only in bloom for a day or two. They push up from the earth, wrapped in their unique scalloped leaf before unfurling on warmer days. Their roots and sap are red like blood and have a long history in indigenous medicine and can also be caustic(so handle with care). Magically, Bloodroot comes into play with love and protection magic; especially where blood ties bind people together, it can create a more harmonious, considerate and respectful environment
Where I call home now, there is a little stream that runs in the spring. Curious as to where it originates, I followed it into the wildwood, much as I did as a child. I was beyond delighted to come upon a patch of Bloodroot growing by the stream! It thrives in wild places, off the known path and to find it; you too must be there
Bloodroot flower essence helps show us a new path in life and gives us the freedom to choose our own way. We can step away from inhibiting beliefs and structures and heal feelings of unworthiness. We can find our chosen communities, found families, karmic relationships and have the confidence to decide what authentic family and connection looks like to us
Where has the root of your blood brought you? Bloodroot can help us overcome and step away from generational trauma, addictions and inherited trauma patterns; to connect better with our sacred origins. The journey is the lesson and should not be overlooked. Choose to walk your own path and have the freedom to be your true self in the wildwoods
